ECC's Mike Rose Recognized with ExxonMobil Canada President's Award for Safe Work

Michael Rose, Chief Steward on the Thebaud Platform was recently the recipient of the ExxonMobil Canada President’s Award for his outstanding contributions to health and safety on board the Sable Offshore Energy Project’s Thebaud Platform.

Mike has worked very hard to improve our culture and attitudes about safe work on the Thebaud Platform. His dedication to his own safety, as well of that of his team and the entire platform, exemplifies the very highest ideals of our company. This achievement has required tremendous dedication and hard work. Mike has demonstrated leadership in the use of Hazard IDs, JOBS Cards, HART Sheets, JSAs, LPOs, numerous other Health and Safety procedures, as well as countless meetings, toolbox talks, and general interactions with his crewmates. The cumulative effect of his hard work has been an impeccable safety record over a period of almost two years (and counting) in which the East Coast Catering Sable Team has had ZERO Recordable Injuries.

ExxonMobil donates $1000.00 to a recognized charity in the name of the winner of this award. Mike selected the IWK Health Centre Foundation. Dedication to Safe Work and Community Responsibility have been hallmarks of East Coast Catering since the establishment of our company. The ExxonMobil Canada President’s Award aligns very well with the values we strive to uphold at East Coast Catering. Therefore, Patrick O’Callaghan, President of East Coast Catering Ltd. authorized a matching donation of $1000.00 to Mike’s chosen charity.

On November 18, 2011, Mike, accompanied by his wife, Neala and ECC NS Operations Manager Adam Gibson, presented these donations to Joanne Bath-Noble, Associate Director of Development for the IWK Health Centre Foundation.

The IWK Health Centre Foundation exists to ensure patients receive excellent care, both inside the IWK and in their home communities, by funding the equipment, programs, and people that government does not. For more information on the areas of care funded by donors visit Your Support Helps.

The IWK Health Centre is a tertiary care facility serving children, youth, and women in the Maritime region of Canada.
Established in 1996, the IWK Foundation relies on the generosity of donors from every corner of the Maritimes and beyond. The motto we share with our donors is a simple one – With You, Anything Is Possible.
