East Coast Catering wins Q Mark Awards in Ireland

On September 24, 2010, EIQA (Excellence Ireland Quality Association) held it's highly prestigious and much anticipated National Quality and Excellence gala awards ceremony. The EIQA awards celebrate the drive, commitment and achievements of all nominated companies, committed to quality in the island of Ireland.

East Coast Catering was named the overall winner of the Q Mark award in the area of Quality Management Systems - Health & Social for the Hatch Hall, Carroll Village and Balseskin Reception Centre facilities.

In addition, the Balseskin Reception Centre received the Q Mark Sapphire award for Hygiene and Food Safety - Public Service - Residential.

These awards demonstrate East Coast Catering's continuing commitment to excellence in quality management and food safety. We congratulate the management and staff whose hard work led to these achievements.

About the EIQA:
The EIQA (Excellence Ireland Quality Association) has been the Irish National Quality Association since 1969 and currently audits thousands of organizations on an annual basis, both nationally and internationally.

The National Q Mark Awards:
The purpose of the National Q Mark awards is to recognize companies and organizations who have demonstrated outstanding quality and excellence practices and processes within their industry sector.
Companies are short-listed as finalists based on the result achieved in their Q Mark for Quality Management Systems assessment (or Hygiene & Food Safety Audit), completed during the period 1st April 2009 - 31st of March 2010.
Only the top scoring program participants are chosen as nominees. A detailed submission document has to be filled out by nominated finalists and returned to go forward for judging. An independent judging panel scores each submission and the finalist's scores and their assessment scores are combined to determine the category award winners.
