Labrador Catering wins Aboriginal Entrepreneurship Award

At the 3rd Annual Atlantic Canada Aboriginal Entrepreneurship Awards Show in St. John’s on September 11, 2007, Labrador Catering Limited Partnership shared the 2007 Band Enterprise of the Year award with Glooscap Heritage Centre of the Millbrook First Nation in Nova Scotia. Accepting the award on behalf of LCLP was Ms. Eva McKay, LCLP’s Assistant Manager at the Voisey’s Bay site and Patrick O’Callaghan, President and CEO of East Coast Catering Limited.

LCLP is a partnership between Innu Development Limited Partnership and East Coast Catering Limited. LCLP was established to pursue business opportunities relating to accommodations, catering and related services for construction projects and resource developments in Labrador. LCLP currently provides accommodations and catering services for a permanent workforce of over 300 persons at the Voisey’s Bay Nickel Company mine and concentrator complex at Voisey’s Bay in northern Labrador. During the construction phase of the mine and concentrator, LCLP provided accommodations and catering services for a workforce of over 1,100 persons.

The Atlantic Canada Aboriginal Entrepreneurship Awards acknowledge and celebrate Aboriginal business successes in the Atlantic Region. East Coast Catering Limited and LCLP congratulate all of the 2007 award winners.
