Donation to Canadian Red Cross (Haitian Disaster Relief Fundraiser)
As a result of your charitable donations to help support the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti, a total of $7,500 was collected from crews onboard the SeaRose FPSO, GSF Grand Banks, Henry Goodrich, Terra Nova FPSO and the ECC Office Staff. ECC President and CEO Patrick O'Callaghan generously matched these donations for a total of $15,000.
As per the CIDA's Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund, all donations made by Canadians to eligible Canadian charitable organizations over the period of January 12 to February 12, 2010 will be matched by the Government of Canada. Because the donation was submitted to the Canadian Red Cross in time, this means that as a result of your contributions, the people of Haiti received $30,000 of desperately needed emergency funds.
Attached is a picture of Mr. O'Callaghan presenting Canadian Red Cross Volunteer Rob Canning with a cheque for $15,000.
As a community we should all be proud of what we have achieved in support of such a worthy cause!
