A rare find: new charbroiler on FPSO
Petro-Canada Flagship - Issue 1, Volume 7
Chef Wayne Hynes stands proudly beside a new Garland Charbroiler, the latest piece of kitchen equipment on the FPSO. Tongues are wagging – and mouths are watering – about this new acquisition, which imparts that great flame-broiled flavour into meats.
“This will allow us to give more of a restaurant style flavour, or almost like a barbecue.”
Hynes, a native of Fortune Harbour who now lives in Western Bay, said people offshore are quite happy about the charbroiler and all hands are looking forward to steak night. Hynes says he has worked on several rigs offshore, but “This is the first charbroiler I’ve seen in a kitchen. It’s one more detail that will make life offshore a little better for the people here.”
