Many resource and energy developments occur in regions where aboriginal groups have established land claims, resulting in complex Impacts and Benefits Agreements (IBAs) that impose certain restrictions and obligations on project developers.
Aboriginal communities have become proactive in creating economic development opportunities for their people. While respecting their rights, territory and culture, aboriginal development organizations represent the economic interests of aboriginal communities by creating opportunities for employment and private business, by encouraging the development of economic capacity through training and education and by creating and managing equity through ownership and partnerships in strategic industries.
At East Coast Catering Limited we believe that we have a responsibility to contribute positively to the regions and communities in which we work. We are therefore committed to proactively seeking partnerships and programs that provide sustainable economic benefits to communities and improve the quality of life for local residents.
As we expand into new geographic regions or new lines of business, we also recognize the value of knowledge of local customs and business practices as well as specific industry knowledge and experience.
Consistent with these beliefs, we have established a number of formal business partnerships and joint ventures to pursue new business opportunities.
